Apple has released third generation iMac devices with significant improvements inside its chiseled, slimmer design. If you are planning to buy this shiny new iMac this Christmas, then check out how this brand new thinner, bigger and smarter version of Apple iMac would be worth your money. iYogi reviews the new generation of Apple iMac in detail including design, processor, performance, display and many more.

Look and design
The new Apple iMac made appearance with a revamped state-of-the-art design. iYogi suggests that this All-in-one new iMac by Apple is bolstered from all angles, right from design, display, storage capacity, memory, hardware. Despite all these enhanced features, the new Apple iMac is flattened by 40 percent in volume with lesser than 5mm edge. The new iMac by Apple comes with 21-inch and 27-inch LCD display that are made 75 percent less reflective. That’s why iYogi recommends this Apple iMac for lifelike viewing of photos, games, movies, browsing Internet with vivid details. In addition to this lesser reflective angles, the latest NVIDIA graphics also contribute to the brilliant display of third-generation iMac.

Ports
Both 21 and 27-inch models include two Thunderbolt connections, Ethernet jack, four USB 3.0 sockets, a 3.5mm headphone jack, an SDXC reader and a FaceTime camera which can record 720p videos. It also has dual microphones and a light sensor to enable the screen monitor to adjust the brightness automatically.

According to iYogi, the 21-inch iMac model features 1,920 x 1,080 resolution display while 27-inch iMac is capable of 2,560 x 1,440 pixel display.

Performance
iYogi tested both 21-inch and 27-inch units of new iMac by Apple and it concluded that a 21-inch model includes a 3.1GHz Intel Core i7 CPU, a 512MB NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M GPU, and 16GB of RAM. The 27-inch Apple iMac has a 3.4GHz Intel Core i7 processor, a 2GB GeForce GTX 680MX GPU, and an 8GB of RAM.

Both 21-inch Apple iMac and 27-inch Apple iMac include the power of Apple’s FusionDrive that mixes a conventional hard drive and an SSD for speedier and more efficient performance. This FusionDrive includes a hybrid of 1TB or 3TB hard disk drive with 128GB sold state drive.

iYogi recommends this new iMac by Apple to its large base of subscribers. This feisty new range of All-in-ones by Apple released on November 30; while the 21-inch iMac will start from $1299, the 27-inch iMac will range from $1799.

iYogi Reviews gaming mouse Aivia Krypton

A computer mouse is probably the most important peripheral that we use to interface with our machines. It is just because of this importance of a mouse that when it comes to doing various tasks on our computers, we rely heavily on our mouse to be smooth, and provide us with precise navigation. The product reviews team of iYogi decided to review the pros and cons of Aivia Krypton mouse. The Aivia Krypton is a peripheral that has been specifically designed by its manufacturer Gigabyte keeping in mind hardcore gamers.

Technically speaking, the Aivia Krypton is pretty typical of higher-end wired mice. The mouse comes equipped with a super-fine laser sensor (with a claimed maximum of 8,200 dpi), programmable macros, adjustable weights and buttons all over the shop: 11 in total, including a handy macro swap thumb switch. However, the Aivia Krypton mouse also comes with a pair of swappable bases – one is Teflon coated, and the other is of ceramic. The maker of this mouse Gigabyte claims that the flexibility of changing bases offers the users to choose between speed and precision. The iYogi Reviews team decided to give this claim a try and reached to the conclusion that it is true. The ceramic feet do make for a more jumpy mouse, while Teflon offers a smoother experience for better control.

If we have to describe this Aivia Krypton mouse in just a few words, we would simply say that it is an extraordinarily comfortable mouse. The slightly ridged top and soft textured sides are a pleasure to hold, and when combined with the sensitive laser it help you enjoy a very precise pointing experience. If you are willing to look past its high price and pointless additional feet, it would not be an exaggeration to call Aivia Krypton a great upmarket mouse. Stay informed with the features of such wonderful and latest computer peripherals by reading iYogi Reviews.

You need to be watchful whether you are working on a PC from your home, office or on a shared platform.

Before planning any step for safeguarding your PC, you need to be aware of your enemies. Some of the most important dangers to our PCs are:

Viruses, Spyware and Malware:

Viruses, spyware and malware are the software programs that can spread through direct contact of your PC with external medium or through software programs like a mail or an attached link. They have the potential to harm your PC as well as make changes in the current configuration thus compromising the security and privacy of your data.

Adware

The main purpose of an adware is to advertise about a certain product through pop-up or banners. They usually are not harmful; but if they display or install themselves without your permission, they are dangerous. Adware can slow down your PC or Internet and some of them also have the potential to steal your private data and send it to the parent company for some illegal use.

Virus Hoaxes and Chain Mails

The fear of attack from a virus or a spyware led to the emergence of another kind of threat. Virus hoaxes are false alarms raised to protect your PC against an imaginary virus or spyware. Chain mails on the other hand speak of some imaginary problem or competition and ask for a sum of money in order to fetch a huge prize. These mails thus either take away your money directly or hack your banking account by seeking personal information.

Cookies

A cookie saves your browsing history and comes as a suggestion when you again try to visit the same website. Cookies are thus programmed to help and ease the typing pressure of a user. However, this can prove malicious when the cookie gets installed without your permission and passes your data to a different website without your prior consent. You need to be more careful when you are using a public computer. You can choose to disable the cookies in order to avoid any security issues.

Keep the software updated

One of the most important aspects of securing your digital data is to install a good and reliable antivirus, antimalware, and a firewall. Installing such software on your PC and keeping them updated not only safeguards your PC from unwanted installation of any programs but also gives required protection against online security threats. To have a better knowledge of software according to your needs, you can ask the experts at iYogi.

To summarize the basics for securing your data on your PC, you need to:

  • Go for a good antivirus or antispyware program and always keep the firewall updated.
  • Keep your PC updated by installing the latest patches for the system.
  • Avoid using easy passwords. Keep your Internet service protected by string passwords. Also, change your password on a regular basis.
