iYogi Reviews Razer Blade: Ultimate Gaming Laptop

If you have been planning to buy a laptop that is designed to give you the best gaming experience, your wait ends here with the new Razer Blade. iYogi reviews the recently launched gaming laptop from Razer. Launched in May 2014, this gaming laptop is surely ahead from its competitors due to its stellar 3200×1800 ten-point touch screen, 4th Gen Core i7 processor and NVIDIA GTX 870M graphics.

Here is the detailed review on the new Razer Blade:

Design

iYogi identifies that the new Razer Blade has a resembling body as the MacBook Pro. The only difference is that it is painted in black, and is available with two ridges at the top surface. At its bottom, it has got two vents describing the presence of the powerful gaming hardware inside.

The width of the gaming laptop is 345mmx235mm, while its height is merely 17.8mm, which is bit slimmer than the latest MacBook Pro. It weighs 2.03 kg making it easily portable.

Overall, iYogi reviews find this unit is quite classy and elegant in looks giving out the typical Razerish impression.

Input and Output Ports

Razer Blade is in-built with 3 USB 3.0 ports – two on the left side (DC and microphone port) and one on the right side (HDMI 1.4 port). Though the unit is equipped with 3 USB ports, but you will have to look out for an external Ethernet Card for wired Internet as it lacks a built-in Ethernet Port.

Display

The 14 inch Razer Blade has moved ahead from its predecessors due to QHD+ screen and the 3200×1800 resolution along with ten-point multi touch feature. The color of the new screen is vivid and ample along with a glossy touch. These features do play a huge role in making this unit deliver the premium look.

Keyboard and Touchpad

Keyboard is the area where the 14-inch gaming laptop, Razer Blade may fall back from its 17-inch sibling. The keyboard of this unit lacks a few standard keys like the Home Key. However, it shouldn’t affect the gaming experience. The backlight of the keyboard emits green light, making the keyboard more stylish.

Touchpad of Razer Blade is equally smart and responsive. You can easily perform the Windows 8 gestures on the pad without coming across any issue.

Memory

While purchasing the Razer Blade, you can choose the storage volume as per your requirement. The Razer Blade is available with storage options– 128GB/ 256GB/ 512 GB SSD.  It comes with 8GB onboard memory (DDR3L – 1600MHz).

Battery

With gaming, the battery of Razer blade lasts only for 1 and half hour. But, if the laptop is used without gaming, battery will last up to 4 hours. The battery performance sounds good for a gaming laptop.

So, if you are planning to buy a gaming laptop, you can definitely choose to go for this laptop.
