Are you planning to buy a new laptop that delivers the optimum performance while playing games? Is your restrained budget making it more difficult to find a machine that performs brilliantly, has some style and is priced decently? Your search for the affordable laptop that comes inclusive with performance and style ends here at Lenovo Y40.

Lenovo has recently come up with a similar option Lenovo Y40 that falls under the category of its high-performance Y series of gaming laptops. This option by Lenovo sounds perfect for the ones who have been looking for a fairly capable and a well-made machine at a very decent price. The Y40 boasts several brilliant features that are inherited from its previous releases – 15.6 inch Lenovo Y50, and 17-inch Y70 of Y series.

iYogi reviews the latest Y Series gaming laptop Lenovo Y40 and ensures that it is worth every penny  as it comes with sharp design, fantastic battery life and JBL audio. Check out the review by iYogi to find out more about the product in detail:

Design

The look of Y40 gaming laptop from Lenovo is very much similar to that of Y50, which carries pretty modest design. Its crosshatch texture looks deluxe. It lets you lift its lid in a very pleasing manner and can be done with one finger while the laptop itself rests on the desk or on your lap.

After opening the laptop, you are provided with a brushed metal palm rest area, which is surely different from the rubber glazed palm rest area in the Y50. Not only this, Y40 surely tops the chart when it comes to its design as its keyboard deck also earns good points in styling, which comes with a uniform sheet of metal that holds each key of the AccuType keyboard with full grip.  There is no doubt that Y40 wins our hearts with good looks and brilliant style.

Display

The Lenovo’s latest gaming laptop Y40 comes embedded with 1080p screen. The best thing about it is that it is secure and does not shake too much when you pick up the laptop or set it down on the desk. The screen comes surrounded with a thick glossy border that holds a 720p webcam and light sensor that automatically adjusts the screen’s brightness, which is dependent upon the availability of light in the room.  Y40 is gifted with supreme display as it has a resolution of 1920×1080.

Processor and Battery

For a good gaming laptop – one thing that matters a lot is its processor and Y40 has arrived with an Intel Core i7-4500U 8GB of DDR3/1600 memory, an AMD Radeon R9 M275 GPU with a 2GB frame buffer, and a 256GB SSD.    And the second thing that matters to be a good gaming laptop is the battery runtime. You would not enjoy playing games on your laptop if its battery is drained out in only 2 hours or 3 hours. This is why to make you fall in love with Y40, the battery included by Lenovo gives the approx. runtime of 5 hours and 14 minutes – it is calculated on the basis of everyday computing chores, not gaming as you will have to be plugged into an AC while playing games.

The 14-inch gaming laptop Y40 has been built very smartly by Lenovo and has also priced it right. The Y40, which starts at $699 (about £426, AU$790) has been designed with an aim to not let your gaming experience down.  So, if you have been planning to buy one gaming laptop, then why not Y40.
