Increasing its 4G LTE footprint, LG recently introduced its all-new Optimus F series smartphone at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. Powered by LG’s industry-leading LTE technology, the smartphone is designed to offer premium customer experience to the mass audience. iYogi Reviews team offers the first-impression review of the two devices – Optimus F5 and Optimus F7 – that made their debut under this category.
Optimus F7 is the larger of the two and sports a 4.7 inch True HD IPS display and has a Dual Core 1.5 GHz processor powered by 2,540mAh battery for long-lasting performance. It offers an 8 megapixel camera and 2GB RAM. This smartphone is a perfect fit for those who love to don a bigger smartphone.
While, on the other hand, LG Optimus F5 is targeted for users who prefer full-featured, compact smartphones. The Optimus F5 offers a 4.3-inch IPS display running on 1.2GHz Dual-Core processor. It has the largest-in-class 2,150mAh battery and 1GB RAM. The primary camera is 5 Megapixel. However, both the devices sport an Android Jelly Bean 4.1.2 operating system with advanced UX features, like the upgraded QSlide and Live Zooming features.
iYogi Reviews team noted that QSlide allows you to open two different applications in the full screen mode at the same time. You can also change the size, position, as well as transparency of the apps according to your needs. Live Zooming allows you to zoom at a specific area while watching a video. Other additional features in both Optimus F Series devices noted by iYogi Reviews team include QuickMemo, Video Wiz, QTranslator, Safety Care, etc.
Though there are no exact details on the pricing and availability for both the models, LG announced that the launch of their Optimus F5 will begin in Europe during the second quarter of the year. This will soon be followed by the release of Optimus F7; however, the availability will be in selected markets. iYogi Reviews team found both Optimus F5 and F7 to be feature-rich smartphones that are powered by the speed of 4G LTE and believes that the Optimus series will prove to be another feather in LG’s cap.
