Yes, that’s what Razer Edge is found out to be. iYogi reviews Razer Edge tablet which has garnered loads of accolades and awards at the CES 2013, Las Vegas. The PC peripheral maker Razer has first unveiled this Windows 8-based which packs in a powerful processor. However, the most striking feature of the tablet is its two-handed gamepad controller on either side of Edge. Design

iYogi explains that Razer Edge is basically a Windows 8 based tablet device with the power of a gaming laptop. That’s why you will find Razer Edge features 4Gb to 8GB RAM, 128 or 256GB SSD storage space, 1.7GHz Intel Core i5 to 1.9GHz Core i7 processor (Razer Edge Pro version). Apart from the processor, RAM and storage space, GPU or the graphics card is another hardware component which adds power to a gaming device. Razer Edge features Nvidia GT 640M LE discrete graphics chop for better and faster graphics display to flash on its 10-inch screen.

Gaming

For gamers, Razers loads a gamepad controller with XInput tech which is supposed to add the gaming performance of an XBOX to a PC. However, this gaming controller also adds some unwanted heavy weight and bulkier look when you hold this gaming tablet in front of you.

Battery life

Another important feature of a gaming device (whether a PC or a tablet whichever you call it) is the battery life. When iYogi reviews this gaming PC under the hood a tablet, it turned out to have up to four hours of battery life with intense games played on it. That’s why iYogi recommends grabbing an extra battery from the cart or the shop and keeping it ready if you are going to play intense games with full brightness.

Finally the verdict: the pros of Razer Edge are remarkable gaming performance, clean Windows 8 version, the first and an ultimate hybrid gaming PC console. However, Razer Edge may disappoint you from its steep pricing point, poor battery life, a tad heavier than sleeker counterparts in the market such as iPad, Microsoft Surface. Hence, tell us what do you think about this hybrid tablet – would you want to buy this one? Share your opinion below.
